Two Clare ladies footballers were included on the intermediate team of the championship which was announced on Saturday night.

Liscannor’s Roisin Considine who starred at wing-back for James Murrihy’s charges as they reached the All-Ireland semi-finals last year was named at number five on the team. She was joined by Kilfenora sharpshooter Niamh O’Dea.

Apart from Clare’s comprehensive 7-18 0-02 win over Sligo in the third round of the All-Ireland series, Considine was ever-present in their outings and played the full sixty minutes for each contest she was on the field for.

O’Dea finished the year with a tally of 4-05 to her name, all of which was scored from play. The dual-player also had an impressive year with the Clare senior camogie team lining out at centre-back while she held the same position for Kilmaley as they reached the last four. Niamh tasted club glory with The Banner but lost out in an agonising Munster quarter-final to Cahir.

Both Considine and O’Dea have returned to the county panel which is now managed by Evan Talty as they attempt to return to the senior ranks.
