Planning permission has been granted for the development of 27 houses in Lahinch.

The site will be located at School Road, Attycristora, Lahinch and will include 16 semi-detached 3-bedroom houses, 10 semi-detached 4-bedroom houses and one detached 4-bedroom house together with all associated site development works and connections to public services. The planning application was lodged by John Talty and Patrick Droney.

The development will discharge wastewater to the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Lahinch, with an Environmental Assessment Officer report dated 15 June 2020, outlining that there is sufficient capacity to accommodate the 27 new lodgings.

A request has been put in by the West Clare Municipal District for a special contribution for a footpath and storm pipe for School Road, costing โ‚ฌ153, 900 and โ‚ฌ61,750, respectively.

A figure of โ‚ฌ12,000 has also been suggested for the developer to lodge with the planning authority to secure โ€œthe reinstatement of public roads which may be damaged by vehicles associated with the construction phase of the development.โ€ This figure relates to a 150m length of road.

It was also noted that the proposed development will not have any impact on the West Clare Railway Greenway Project, an 85km project which will run from Ennis to Kilkee.
