In a bid to support and drive the local economy, Ennis Chamber have launched the shop local, โ€˜Clare Gift Cardโ€™.

Outlining that every โ‚ฌ10 spent locally is worth โ‚ฌ24 to the local economy, Ennis Chamber have stressed the message has never been as important. The Clare Gift Card can only be used in Co Clare. Details on

Operation of the gift card has been outsourced to One4All. As of Friday evening, over 50 businesses across the county have signed up to accept the Clare Gift Card with much more tipped to follow suit following the launch on Friday.

Members of the Clare public can purchase the gift card via the Ennis Chamber website or at post offices in Kilrush, Ennistymon, Clonroadmore (Ennis), Bank Place (Ennis) and Lower Market St (Ennis).

Employers can reward employees with up to โ‚ฌ500 in Clare Gift Cards completely tax-free under the Small Benefits Exemptions Scheme. The reward will be exempt from Income Tax, Universal Social Charge (USC) and employee and employers PRSI, saving employers and employees money.

The idea behind this Shop Local Clare Gift Card is simple.
