Pairings have been unveiled for the provincial championships in minor hurling, football and U20 hurling.
Brian Coffey will begin his tenure as manager of the Clare minor hurlers with a quarter-final clash against Cork. The format has been reversed to its traditional guise meaning there will be no second chances or opportunities to play every county. The winner of this clash will meet Limerick in the last four.
As is the case with the Clare senior footballers, the minors have the same route to follow if they wish to taste provincial glory. Dermot Coughlan’s side face Tipperary in the quarter-finals with the winner meeting either Limerick or Waterford in the semi-finals.
Clare’s U20 hurlers will perform in an inter-county championship for the first time as a group this summer. Due to a change in the minor age-group from U18 to U17, this year’s U20 panel missed out on playing county minor, the onset of COVID-19 put their chances of championship action in danger.
However Sean Doyle’s charges meet reigning All-Ireland champions Tipperary in the Munster quarter-finals. The winner of this tie will play Waterford in the semi-finals.
Dates and venues have yet to be announced by Munster GAA.
