Darkness into Light will be taking place in October for the first time.

Eleven years ago, 400 people walked 5km in what was the inaugural Darkness into Light. Each year, the Pieta House fundraiser has grown in numbers, in 2019 more than 200,000 people took part in 200 locations in 16 counties across five continents.

Originally scheduled to take place on May 9th, the planned 2020 event was postponed on account of COVID-19 restrictions.

A new date has been set and will see walkers and runners hit the roads on October 3rd in 228 venues in 25 different countries. So far, more than 7,000 walkers have registered and over €341,000 has been raised for Pieta House.

Doolin, Ennis, Kilmihil, Miltown Malbay, Shannon and Sixmilebridge are all set to host their Darkness into Light events.
