Postmen and postwomen are checking in on Clare residents who are cocooning.

An Post have recently launched two new services aimed to aid communities during the current global health crisis. Family members can request a check-in to be done by the local postman or postwoman for older and vulnerable individuals. Further information on how to register for ‘Request a Check-In’ is available at An Post’s website.

Specific needs relating to groceries or prescriptions will be passed on to ALONE by the postperson and will link in with the Clare COVID-19 Community Response Forum.

A newspaper delivery service has been started by An Post. The same-day delivery runs from Monday to Friday. Arrangements can be made by contacting the newspaper that you wish to get.

Managing Director of An Post Mails and Parcels, Garrett Bridgeman explained that free of charge service combines the digital and physical sides of the business “for the common good”.
