Clare will remain in the Division 2 of the Lidl Ireland Ladies Football National League.

At lunchtime on Tuesday, the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) confirmed that the 2020 National League were cancelled and would not be completed. “The prime concern for the LGFA at the present time is the health and wellbeing of our members. Consequently, a number of decision have been made in respect of LGFA competitions, which have not been taken lightly,” a spokesperson for the LGFA outlined.

Whether or not the 2020 TG4 All-Ireland Championships proceed will be “reviewed on an ongoing basis”. The possibility of provincial action in the U16 and Minor championships remains an option.

The Lidl Post Primary Schools Competitions have also been cancelled for 2020, along with the LGFA Interprovincial Competition, the All-Ireland U14 Championship, Féile na nÓg and Féile Skills. A number of Development programmes are also postponed until LGFA activity resumes.

James Murrihy’s Clare were without a win in five games and looked to be set for relegation following defeats to Armagh, Monaghan, Tyrone and Cavan. They had one point on the board when they earned a draw with fellow Intermediate outfit, Meath.
