A West Clare man has enlisted the help of The Clare Echo’s readers to help identify mysterious personnel in a photograph dating back to the 1930s.

Taken in the summer time, the photograph is of ten people who are believed to be heading off on their travels. They are well-dressed and vary in age from sixteen to forty. The photograph was taken by the parents of the man who visited The Clare Echo’s newsroom but wished to remain anonymous.

He was of the view that they were heading off to an event such as a coursing

“I don’t know anybody in the photograph, absolutely nobody,” he confessed. When cleaning belongings in the attic recently, he came across the photograph and was struck by the fact that he knew nothing about anyone in the image. “It is a complete unknown, a puzzle and I want to solve it”.

He added, “It is a long lost photo with unknown people”. If you recognise any of the individuals in the picture, please contact The Clare Echo on 065 671 9021 or email paraic@clareecho.ie.
