Gardaí are appealing for the public’s assistance as they carry out an investigation into a crash which claimed the life of a woman in Kilrush on Friday.

A collision between a car and a truck at Ballycurtin on the N68 Kilrush to Ennis Rd claimed the life of a woman in her seventies on Friday evening. The woman was driving the car and was pronounced dead at the scene, her body was later taken to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem. The truck driver was uninjured.

Anyone with information, particularly any road users travelling in the area at the time of the collision who may have camera footage are asked to contact Kilrush Garda station on 065 9080550, the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
