Three contests are expected to take place for various positions at Thursdayโs Clare GAA Annual Convention.
Joe Cooney (Chairman), Pat Fitzgerald (Secretary), Anne Hayes (Asst Secretary), Michael Gallagher (Treasurer), Tony Brohan (Asst Treasurer) Michael OโConnor (PRO), Flan OโReilly (Irish & Culture Officer) are all unopposed and look set to be re-elected to their various roles.
There are three nominees for Vice Chairman with the incumbent PJ McGuane of Cooraclare in competition with Ennistymonโs John Fawl and Neil OโBrien who is the current Bord na nรg Iomaint Chair.
Two members of the backroom team from the first Clare side to win an All-Ireland U21 title are nominated for Games Development Officer, namely Rosaleen Monaghan (Tubber) and Sean OโHalloran (Bodyke).
All-Ireland winning Clare hurler, Niall Gilligan is in the running for one of the two spots as Munster Council Delegate. Even though he has been nominated, PJ Kellyโs five year stint in the role has concluded. Kieran Keating of Naomh Eoin who lives in Sixmilebridge is hoping to stay on. Gilligan, ex county Treasurer Bernard Keane, Tony Brohan, Ger Hickey and John Fawl are all vying for the role.
Robert Frost who previously attempted to become President of the GAA will go up against ex Munster Council CEO Simon Moroney and PJ McGuane in a bid to be elected Central Council Delegate.
