Clare farmers will be among the thousand or so protesters driving to Leinster House on tractors highlighting their frustration with agriculture in the country.

A tractorcade is expected to converge on Dublin City by midday alongside a march heading in the direction of Merrion Square. Gardaí have been consulted about a traffic management plan with motorists told to expect delays and disruption.

Tractors, trailers and a wide range of machinery have been spotted on the road to Dublin as farmers travel from all corners of Ireland to highlight their concerns. They have listed carbon tax, protecting family farms, reform of state agencies, the dairy bull calf issue, neglect of rural Ireland and barriers preventing the Beef Market Taskforce as their reasons for protesting.

Chairperson of the Clare Beef Plan, Joseph Woulfe will be on the farmers in the capital. “We’re going to shake up the city, they haven’t a clue what we have coming in. We’re coming in from four sides,” he told The Clare Echo.
