Overlay works due to take place in Mountshannon between July and September will require patience and co-operation from locals, Cllr Pat Burke has said.
Cllr Burke sought an update on proposed works for the main street in Mountshannon at the May meeting of the Killaloe Municipal District. Senior executive engineer, Tom Mellett confirmed that the upgrades of footpaths on each side of Mountshannon’s main street were included in the schedule of municipal district works.
Mellett outlined that the project was “currently at design stage” and expected it to commence in the third quarter of 2019. “The final design will be subject to budget constraints,” he flagged.
Fine Gael’s Burke was of the view that the design stage had already been completed. “There will be a bit of disruption and people will have to be patient while works are going on, let’s hope people will be patient”. His motion was seconded by Fianna Fáil’s Alan O’Callaghan.
