Shannon Springs Hotel in Shannon has been voted number 1 “Airport Hotel of the Year” in Ireland at the Irish Hotel Awards 2019.

Owners/Directors Dermot Kelly & John Gavin said their goal when setting up the Shannon Springs Hotel was to provide a friendly, courteous and customer-oriented hotel, displaying high levels of quality and service and catering for the needs of corporate and local family trade.

Dermot Kelly said, “Achieving this award demonstrates all the hard work and dedication that both John and I, along with the team have put in over the last three years. We are very proud of what we have achieved and look forward to growing the Shannon Springs Hotel further.”

Shannon Springs also scooped a “Star Award” for Kitchen Porter of the Year which went to Mark Amoah for his dedication and hard work.
The deluxe three-star Shannon Springs Hotel employs 50 full time staff members in the locality and has injected €500,000 in a major refurbishment programme over the past few months.

“With a 20 bedroom upgrade to executive level and installed air conditioning into each of them, making us the only hotel in Shannon with air conditioning. We have just completed a full new public bathroom build which links to our Local Bar & Vintage Themed Beer Garden and we have further plans for later in the year.

“As a family hotel, we want to belong to and give back to the region, that’s why we have invested in sponsoring local rugby, soccer, GAA teams along with Muse Productions. These young people are the future lifeblood of the Shannon area and we are glad to play our part in facilitating their endeavors.”
