WE ALL have our old reliables when it comes to indulging in some tasty treats with our nearest and dearest, but once in a while it’s nice to step outside our comfort zone and try something new.

There are so many foodie havens in Clare making waves in the industry, it’s hard to know where to start.

Our resident Love Clare columnist Aoibhín Garrihy has done the hard work for you, with her Top Five New Kids on the Block.

Be sure to pick up this week’s Clare Echo to read her full column!

1. Little Fox: Sourcing local, organic and seasonal produce with an everchanging menu, chef Niamh Fox’s newest offering in Ennistymon serves food full of heart and flare. This quaint little restaurant caters for everyone (vegans included) and boasts the freshest of ingredients free from artificial colouring, flavour or preservatives.

2. Pot Duggan’s: Another little gem in the heart of Ennistymon is McKenna’s Guide Irish Pub of the Year 2018 but not JUST a pub, Pot Duggan’s is establishing quite a name for it’s food (including a very quirky brunch menu) and event hosting too (weddings, parties, you name it!) A very deserving winner of the McKenna accolade, we concur!

3. Volcano Wings: While I have yet to pop in and indulge I am heading great things about Ennis’ newest casual dining experience, Volcano and if the decor is anything to go by (very cool, urban, industrial feel) it won’t be long before I’ll be sipping on a cool beer, hacking in to those wings and enjoying the vibes! Choose from an array of wing sauces and team them with loaded fries…finger licking good!

4. The Frozen Spoon: Fancy a treat? Go on, go on, go on! The Frozen Spoon in Miltown Malbay choose a great summer to open it’s doors and has already become a firm favourite for it’s delicious gelato, ice cream and the dessert classics like the Frozen Spoon Banana Split with a West Clare twist. Delish!

5. Wood & Bell Restaurant and Cafe: It’s just a few short months since Wood & Bell brought their fine dining offering to Killaloe but the walls are already gaining plaques. Georgina Campbell describes it as a “delightful place and a treat dining destination”. If a “Sous Vide Rump of Lamb” or “Torched Langoustines” sound good to you, check it out!
