ONE of Clare’s most famous clubs have given us a sneak peek at their annual magazine and it looks amazing.

Newmarket-on-Fergus GAA have released their annual magazine, Tradraรญ, a previous McNamee award winning publication, and it’s one for the GAA and history enthusiasts.

In 2016, James McInerney become only the second Clare man to win the All Ireland Poc Fada Championship, an extensive profile of the Newmarket-on-Fergus man is included in Tradraรญ. Club referee and Mary Immaculate College lecturer, Rory McGann talks to the magazine following a busy year which saw him take charge of his first Clare SHC final and young members of their club are put โ€˜In The Roundโ€™ to give their views. An account of Newmarketโ€™s 1916 championship success is also included.

This yearโ€™s editorial committee is comprised of Con Woods, Paula Carr Whelan, Colm Liddy, Siobhรกn Marren and Pรกraic McMahon. For the third year in succession, Tradraรญ is available for a very modest โ‚ฌ5.

Speaking following the release, Editor Pรกraic McMahon outlined the importance of such publications in Irish life. โ€œGAA and history go hand in hand and both are adored by the people of Ireland. With the Tradraรญ we do our utmost to document the year that was, by covering the success of teams we are inspiring the next generation. Volunteers are central to our organisation and such is the case with Tradraรญ through our contributors and sellersโ€, the Public Relations Officer added.

Copies of Tradraรญ can be purchased at the following Newmarket-on-Fergus outlets; Spar, Eurospar, Halpinโ€™s Service Station, Realeโ€™s Butchers, Oโ€™Neills Bar and The Sports Bar. Croweโ€™s Gala at the Minister Cross will also be stocking editions.

Arrangements can also be made to pick up a copy by emailing nofgaa@outlook.com or tweeting @NOFGAA.
