Inagh’s Noel Hehir made the long trip to Shelbourne Park on Saturday night last worthwhile when recording a superb double.

Litter comrades Cooolavanny Chick and Coolavanny Kyser brought success for the Clare man in the capital. The latter went marginally faster when seeing off a talented field in the fifth race. Breaking fastest, Kyser shot to the fence and made every inch of the running. The son of Droopys Sydney and Toms Delight maintained a powerful gallop all the way to the finish to come home six lengths clear of Highview Willow in 28:41.

His less experienced litter sister Coolavanny Chick claimed a second win from three career starts in the A1 second race. She displayed fine early zip to race clear into the turn and was never threatened despite the best efforts from Tracey’s Pet in second. At the line Coolavanny Chick had five lengths in hand in 28:44.

Confused Keggy owned by Cratloe’s Gerry Manley has never been too far away from the winners enclosure and she notched her sixth career victory at Limerick last Thursday. She produced a front-running masterclass bouncing out of trap five to take a comfortable lead into the opening corner. From here, it was going to take a monumental effort from the remainder of the field to pick this lady up and the daughter of ‘Superior Product – Confused Breda’ flew to a four length victory. The time was a smart 28.91.
