3 deaths and 14 more cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed by health officials this Tuesday evening as Co Clare has now gone five days without any increase in cases.

Ireland’s death toll from COVID-19 now stands at 1,709 following confirmation from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) that a further 3 people have died. Earlier today it was revealed that one more person has died from Covid-19 in Northern Ireland, taking the total to 542.

An extra 14 cases are now known by the HPSC bringing to 25,334 the total amount of individuals to have tested positive for the virus.

Latest detail for Co Clare which is from Sunday has noted that there has been no increase in cases here for the fifth day in succession. To date, a total of 369 individuals have been diagnosed with the virus in the county.

A total of 386,572 tests have been conducted as of Monday (June 14th), Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tony Holohan stated. “Over the past week, 18,758 were carried out. 146 tests were positive, giving a positivity rate of 0.8%.”

According to the latest HSE operational figures overnight, there are 71 confirmed Covid-19 patients and 170 suspected cases in hospitals around the country. The hospitals with the most confirmed cases are the Mater with 17, Tallaght 12 and Beaumont which has 10.
