Footpaths along Fergus Rd in Shannon are to be considered for inclusion in the 2020 footpath repair contract.
Residents have complained that the footpaths at the back of houses in Fergus Rd in Shannon are โuneven and unsafe,โ Cllr Donna McGettigan (SF) outlined at a recent meeting of the Shannon Municipal District.
She requested that repairs be carried out and was informed by senior executive engineer, Aidan OโRourke that they would be surveyed and assessed along with being considered for inclusion in this yearโs footpath repair contract.
Cllr McGettigan noted that the paths were used by individuals travelling to shops, pubs and bookmakers in Drumgeely.
According to Cllr Pat OโGorman (FF), โthe footpath is a major hazard, the road outside the footpath is a bit similar as well,โ he cautioned. Cllr Gerry Flynn (IND) told the meeting that he would support โanything that we can do to enhance the townโ.
