GARDAÍ are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Cratloe in the early hours of this morning.
The single vehicle collision involved a car and occurred shortly after 7:00am in Ballymorris, close to the South-East Clare village.
A male driver aged in 40s was pronounced deceased at the scene. The man’s body has been removed to University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The Coroner has also been notified.
The road is currently closed pending examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators with local diversions in place.
Speaking to The Clare Echo, a spokesperson for An Garda Siochána stated that they are “appealing to anyone who may have been travelling on the R462 in Ballymorris, Cratloe, Co. Clare between 6:30am and 7:10am on Wednesday 29th July 2026”.
“Road users who may have camera footage (including dash cam or mobile phone recordings) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí”, they continued.
