FOUR FLIGHTS diverted to Shannon Airport this Thursday morning due to adverse weather conditions affecting airports in Cork and Dublin.

Shannon Airport stepped in to facilitate flights due for Cork and Dublin which were forced to divert due to wind and rain which has left Co Clare under a status yellow weather warning.

Ryanair flights FR905 from London Stansted to Cork, and FR527 from Tenerife South to Cork, diverted to Shannon Airport, arriving at 8:00am and 10:21am respectively. Passengers from both flights are to be transferred by coach to Cork Airport.

Royal Dutch Airlines flight KL1127, operating from Amsterdam to Cork, landed at Shannon at 10.56am. Passengers from this service are also being transferred by coach to Cork.

In addition, Aer Lingus flight EI86, travelling from Cleveland to Dublin, diverted to Shannon Airport and arrived at 9:11am. All passengers disembarked and are to be transported by coach to Dublin Airport.

A spokesperson for the Shannon Airport Group told The Clare Echo, “Shannon Airport is happy to assist airlines and our colleagues in other airports during weather-related disruptions and remains fully prepared to accommodate further diversions if required”.
