ACTION kicks off this Sunday in the first round of the Clare ladies football senior championship.

Kilmurry Ibrickane defend their maiden title for the very first time when they welcome Burren Gaels to Páirc Naomh Mhuire in Quilty on Sunday at 14:00.

Intermediate champions Éire Óg begin life in the senior ranks in the other Group A which sees them host Fergus Rovers in Ennis at 12:00 on Sunday.

Last year’s beaten finalists Doora/Barefield will line out in championship without AFLW duo Aisling Reidy and Siofra Ní Chonáill. They face off with St Joseph’s Miltown in Gurteen at 15:30 on Sunday.

In what may be the tie of the round, Kilmihil and Banner Ladies square off in St Michael’s Park, Kilmihil at 14:15 on Sunday looking to claim valuable points in Group B.
