ENNIS’ Áine Donegan has been selected to represent her country in two upcoming tournaments.

Áine is part of the Great Britain and Ireland team teeing off in the Vagliano Trophy in the Netherlands this week. She played in the tournament in Scotland two years ago.

She was part of the historic 10½-9½ Curtis Cup success at Sunningdale in September, where Great Britain and Ireland won for the first time in eight years.

Twenty three old Áine is a member of Lahinch Golf Club.

She has also been selected to represent Ireland EGA European Ladies’ and Girls’ Team Championships, taking place from 8 to 12 July. The women’s team will compete at Golf de Chantilly in France, while the girls’ team will travel to Slaley Hall in England for their championship.

Her Curtis Cup teammate Beth Coulter (Kirkistown Castle) is part of both teams with Áine.

Each championship will begin with two rounds of stroke play qualifying, with the best five of six scores counting each day. The top eight teams will advance to match play to compete for the overall title.
