BOTH KILKEE and Spanish Point have been deemed safe to swim in this weekend.

Advisory notices were introduced this week for Spanish Point (Wednesday) and Kilkee (Thursday) but were lifted on Friday afternoon.

This follows additional sampling of the water at the West Clare beaches with Clare County Council lifting the advisory notices on the advice of the HSE.

In accordance with An Taisce’s Blue Flag programme, the Blue Flags will be reinstated at both locations.
