CORK comfortably qualified for another Munster senior camogie final at Clare’s expense.

Cork 2-22
Clare 0-10
Venue: Zimmer Biomet Páirc Cíosóg, Ennis

Hot favourites Cork took control early and had three points on the board before Clare opened their account. They went on to have a ten point advantage at half time when the score was 1-10 to 0-3.

They hit for 1-5 without reply in the middle third of the game, the goal coming from Clodagh Finn just before the end of the opening quarter.

Clare returned with Ellen Casey in their attack in place of Caoimhe Cahill but the visitors continued where they had left off and they hit the first five points after the break to extend their lead to fifteen point.

After this both sides made a raft of substitutions which didn’t upset Cork’s dominance.

The margin was still fifteen points with ten minutes remaining and after the visitors had stretched their lead to seventeen, substitute Ava Fitzgerald struck for their second goal.

Second half substitutes Andrea O’Keeffe and Aisling Cooney got on the scoresheet for the home side but champions Cork, winners of the Division 1 A league title two weeks previous, emerged as comfortable winners.

Maebh Cahalane, Libby Coppinger, Aisling Thompson, Clodagh Finn and Hannah Looney were prominent for the winners throughout

Clare Hehir, Abby Walsh, Aoife Anderson and the Daly sisters worked hard for Clare.

Clare will now turn their attention to the All Ireland championship and a meeting with Wexford in five weeks time in the opening round
