KILLANENA’s much-loved tractor run takes place this Sunday.
Now in its ninth year, the event will see a convoy of tractors, trucks, vintage cars and motorbikes taking to the roads in support of a fantastic local cause.
This year, the Tractor Run Committee has chosen to support the development of new community facilities at Killanena GAA Grounds. In recent years, Killanena GAA has been actively working to enhance its grounds, with the latest phase, a new community walkway already well underway. Plans are also in place for a community gym, with both facilities set to benefit people of all ages across the parish.
Registration opens at 11:00 a.m. at Canny’s Bar, with engines set to roar into action at 12:30 p.m. The scenic route will take participants on a tour around Lough Graney, before returning to Canny’s for a monster auction featuring a fantastic range of prizes. A food truck and live DJ will also be on site, keeping the energy high and stomachs full throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
Over the years, the Killanena Tractor Run has raised vital funds for a wide range of causes across the county. All are welcome to take part or watch from the sidelines. Whether you’re behind the wheel or soaking up the atmosphere, your support is greatly appreciated in helping bring these community projects to life. All donations are welcome, with proceeds going directly to the development of community facilities at Killanena GAA Grounds.
