FEAKLE’s St Patrick Day festivities saw a guest of honour and pointed digs towards the cost of bike sheds in Ireland and the condition of roads on the other side of the county.

After winning the Clare senior hurling championship last season for the first time since 1988, Feakle proudly had the Canon Hamilton to show for their efforts as they paraded through the East Clare village.

Winning captain, Oisin Donnellan was joined by centre back Conn Smyth and corner forward Raymond Bane.

Elsewhere, the float belonging to Peppers Pub carried the message that they were off to fix the roads of Doonbeg after the West Clare village was mentioned in The White House during Taoiseach Micheál Martin’s (FF) meeting with US President, Donald Trump. A ‘Make America Great Again’ hat was also sported by one member in attendance.

Signs with details on the sale of an over-priced bike shed were also on show with homage also paid to the Titanic.
