SHANE Oโ€™DONNELL has been named the PwC GAA/GPA Hurler of the Month for April.

Since making his first appearance of the year when coming on as a half-time substitute in Clareโ€™s Allianz National Hurling League final win over Kilkenny, Shane Oโ€™Donnell has made an immediate impact in the Clare attack.

He scored 0-1 and was a constant threat in Clareโ€™s opening round provincial loss to Limerick while he hit 1-1 as Brian Lohanโ€™s side bounced back to defeat Cork in the second round tie in Pรกirc Uรญ Chaoimh.

ร‰ire ร“gโ€™s Shane will be part of the Clare forward line this weekend as they look to record successive victories in the Munster championship when facing off with Davy Fitzgeraldโ€™s Waterford.

Armaghโ€™s Lauren McConville, Tipperary captain Karen Kennedy and Donegal wing back Ryan McHugh won the awards for ladies football, camogie and gaelic football respectively.

The PwC GPA Womenโ€™s Player of the Month and PwC GAA/GPA Players of the Month Award winners are voted for by the GPAโ€™s membership.
