MILTOWN MALBAY’S NIALL Quinn will take charge of the TUS Clare SFC final this weekend.

Cratloe and St Breckan’s meet in the Clare SFC final for the first time on Sunday in Cusack Park with St Joseph’s Miltown clubman Quinn appointed as the match official. The game commences at 3pm.

It will be the second time the former Miltown goalkeeper handles the showpiece event in the local football calendar, he was the man in the middle for the 2020 county final when Kilmurry Ibrickane claimed their sixteenth title at the expense of Cratloe winning on a score of 1-12 0-12.

A member of the provincial panel, the Newmarket-on-Fergus resident was in charge of the Munster U20 semi-final between Cork and Limerick in April and also the same pairing last year. He refereed the 2022 Munster minor final when Cork had a 3-11 0-9 victory against Kerry.

In this year’s club campaign, Niall took charge of the quarter-final tie between St Breckan’s and Lissycasey and Cratloe’s second round loss to Kildysart among other contests.

Wolfe Tones’ Chris Maguire who refereed last year’s senior final has been appointed as the match official for Saturday’s intermediate final between Kilrush Shamrocks and Kilmihil which takes place in Shanahan McNamara Memorial Park, Doonbeg and throws in at 4:30pm.
