CLARE’S FINAL outing in this year’s All-Ireland SFC also marked Colm Collins’ last game in charge of the county, this was the main discussion of our latest episode of The Water Break.

Prior to a ball being kicked in Saturday’s game, it was known that Clare were not going to progress to the preliminary quarter-finals.

A six point defeat to Derry ended their involvement in the 2023 campaign but also brought the curtain down on Colm Collins’ tenure with the Kilmihil native appointed manager in the winter of 2013.

Joining us on The Water Break are David O’Brien who served as selector under Collins for two seasons including their 2016 run to the All-Ireland quarter-finals and journalist Seamus Hayes who has covered all ten of Collins’ seasons.

On the Clár:

  • Assessments of Clare’s 2023 championship
  • The third quarter spree which killed off Clare
  • How to break down a defensive system
  • Honest Clare need to learn the dark arts
  • Colm Collins’ legacy
  • What it was like to work in a Collins led management
  • Putting pride back in the Clare jersey
  • Leading contenders to replace Colm
