There was mixed luck for two Clare colleges in the Munster colleges junior A(under 16.5) hurling championship (Dean Ryan cup) this past week.
St Flannan’s College moved into the semi-final of the competition with a 1-22 to 0-16 win over CBC from Cork but Roce College Ennis bowed out when going down narrowly to St Colman’s Fermoy. They lost by a goal, 1-16 to 2-16.
Ard Scoil Ris from Limerick, with a number of Clare players in their squad, have also qualified for the semi-final. They had an easy 4-20 to 0-3 win over Nenagh CBS.
In the under 16.5 C competition St Caimins from Shannon progressed to the third round with a 3-21 to 2-19 win over Mitchelstown CBS.
Ennistymon CBS advanced to the third round of the under 16.5 D competition with a 1-34 to 0-10 win over Colaiste Mhuire Askeaton while, in the same competition, St Anne’s Killaloe were easy 3-18 to 0-1 winners over Douglas Community school.
