The East Clare Musical Society made a triumphant return to the stage over the Easter Weekend with three sold out performances of A Night at the Musicals “Cabaret”.

Over 700 people from all over, travelled to Scariff and took their seats in the specially designed Cabaret Theatre in Scariff Community College. They were wined, dined and royally entertained by their hosts in the Society.

The three appreciative audiences rose as one at the end of each performance to applaud and congratulate the performers who had sang, danced, acted and caused them to laugh, cry and sing along with the classic songs from the musicals. There were standards from Cabaret, West Side Story, South Pacific, Mamma Mia, Jesus Christ Superstar, Oliver, Chicago, Jekyll & Hyde, Les Miserables and many more.

With Musical Direction by local impresario John O’Brien and Choreography by Sarah Allen assisted by Claire O’Sullivan, the many talented performers from throughout East Clare took to the stage cheered on by audiences starved of live music and musical theatre during the last two years.

Treated to thirty eight songs from the musicals it was a dizzying trip through the light fandango for the audience. A Night at the Musicals “Cabaret” was truly a spectacular feast of sight and sound with a fully professional setup put in place by Ger Kilkenny and his team from Experience Productions.
