A PITCH inspection has resulted in the postponement of Clareโ€™s second round clash with Kerry in the Division 2A Lidl Ladies Football League.

Shanahan McNamara Memorial Park in Doonbeg had been due to host the fixture with the possibility of a change of venue mooted due to Storm Dudley and Storm Eunice this week.

Following a pitch inspection on Saturday morning, the Doonbeg grounds were deemed unplayable after heavy rainfall on Friday night and into the early hours of Saturday morning.

No alternative venue was chosen or agreed upon so the Ladies Gaelic Football Association announced the postponement of the game.

February 27th has been confirmed as the date of the refixture. Following a defeat to Laois last weekend, Clare are in a need of a win if they are to progress to the knockout stages of the League while Kerry were hoping to put together successive victories having overcome Tipperary in round one.

The LGFA have confirmed that any patron that purchased the game to watch online will still be able to view the refixture without paying an additional fee.
