TWO YOUNG CLARE dancers performed the opening number at a Lord of Dance twenty five year anniversary special.

Cooraclare’s Tadhg Moroney and Turlough Mulqueen from Ennis, both aged twelve years old were part of the acts on stage at the twenty five year celebrations for Lord of the Dance.

Stars of the past, present and future have all been involved the celebrations with Michael Flatley organising for each sell-out show to begin with a short number from young dancers.

At the opening show at Bord Gais Energy Theatre, Tadhg and Turlough were among the young stars. They attend the Michael Donnellan Irish Dance School in Ennis.

Donnellan regarded as one of the greatest dancers from Co Clare was an original cast member for Lord of the Dance and was invited by Flatley to attend the opening show of the 25th anniversary.

Since its premiere, Michael Flatley’s Lord Of The Dance has visited over 1000 venues worldwide and been seen by over 60 million people in 60 different countries on every continent, making it one of the most successful dance productions in the world.

This tour brings a new look to a classic and has been described as a showpiece extravaganza, featuring more than 150,000 taps per performance as it transports the audience to a mythical time and place, capturing hearts in a swirl of movement, precision dancing, artistic lighting and pyrotechnics.
