US Vice President Mike Pence will stay at Trump Doonbeg when he visits Ireland next month.

Trump International Golf Links and Hotel Ireland already welcomed the President of the United States, Donald Trump in June of this year and now preparations are underway as his Vice President, Mike Pence will also be housed at the same resort.

As of yet, US sources are yet to officially confirm that Pence will be based at the five star West Clare hotel. Personnel organising the upcoming visit have said to expect that the Vice President will stay at Trump Doonbeg.

A spokesperson for the resort told The Clare Echo that they are near full occupancy on the weekend in which Mike Pence will be in the country.

Pence is to begin his first official trip to Ireland as Vice President in Dublin attending separate meetings with An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, representatives of Irish-American businesses at the residence of Ambassador Edward Crawford and President Michael D. Higgins.

From there he will fly to Shannon Airport on September 6th. The Irish Times reports that he will be accompanied on a visit to the Cliffs of Moher by Tánaiste Simon Coveney on the second day of his trip.

Relations of the former Indiana Governor hailed from Doonbeg with Hugh McNally the owner of Morrissey’s Bar and Restaurant a distant cousin of Pence. In a summer spent in the Long Village during the 1980s, he worked behind the bar at the bar where he is anticipated to dine out during his trip.
