Two young men have died following a single vehicle collision at Parteen in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Both men were accompanied by two other young males in their early twenties who sustained serious injuries and are now receiving treatment at University Hospital Limerick.

Gardaí are currently carrying out a forensic investigation at Quinspool in Parteen where the single vehicle incident occurred shortly after midnight. The Long Pavement Rd which is between Parteen village and the Watch House Cross is closed with local diversions in place.

An incident room at Mayorstone Park Garda Station has been set up. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward, particularly any motorists who were travelling in the area between 12am and 1am who may have Dashcam footage.
