EXPERIENCE stood to Truagh/Clonlara as they sealed their place in a first-ever Munster club senior camogie final.
A 3-10 0-13 win over Clonoulty Rossmore saw Truagh/Clonlara come out on top in their semi-final clash with Eimear Kelly and Becky Foley getting late goals for the Clare champions.
Speaking to The Clare Echo, Truagh/Clonlara said they learned from the provincial semi-final defeat to Sarsfields of Cork last year.
He remarked of their strong finish, โwe have been doing that all year long. These girls donโt know when to stopโ.
Morris continued, โwe died off in the last ten minutes against Sarsfields (Cork) last year. The girls have learned from that experience and we got two goals in the last five minutes today. We didnโt feel we were under too much pressure, the workrate from corner forward all the way back was superbโ.
How they finished โcomes from experience. We were down against Scariff/Ogonnelloe in the semi-final. We were under pressure when Inagh/Kilnamona got the goal. Last year and other years we have been in this position. We know what we are doing now. The girls never give up and they fully deserve their Munster final place after all the hard work they have put inโ.
A member of the Clare senior camogie management, the former goalkeeper outlined, โthis is another big step for Clare camogie. Our club scene is very good, Scariff/Ogonnelloe, Inagh/Kilnamona, the โBridge, whoever it might be. We are back in the right place and Clare camogie deserves to be in this final. We will go ahead and give it everything. We will get the bodies right during the week and get ready for another big dayโ.
