A NEW YEAR’s Day tree planting takes place in Ennistymon.
Organised by the Restore Ballymacraven River Association, the tree planting will be held along the Glen Walk in Ennistymon at 12pm on Thursday (January 1st). The meeting point is the arched stone bridge.
Wellington boots, rain gear, gloves and a spade are the recommended items to bring for attendees.
As well as planting trees, there will be a discussion on the native trees, the reason for planting them in Ennistymon and instructions on how to plant a tree. Organisers have said everyone is welcome from all ages and physical abilities, with multiple ways to get involved, not just tree planting.
On January 31st, another tree planting event will be held.
