Clare’s senior footballers exited the Munster SFC in dramatic fashion losing a penalty shootout to Limerick after 90 minutes of action could not determine a winner.

Watch or listen to the latest episode of The Water Break to delve into the game in more detail.

The Clare Echo‘s Páraic McMahon is joined by ex Clare footballers Áine Kelly and Shane Hickey to pick up the pieces following the county’s exit from the Munster senior football championship. They draw parallels on this defeat and that of the 2020 loss to Tipperary, assess a flat performance and focus on how tackling led to Limerick raiding for a vital first half goal.

Saturday’s loss was the first championship defeat for Clare against Limerick under Colm Collins. It is the first time in six championship meetings that Limerick emerged victorious in the clash of the neighbours.
