Life can present itself like a seesaw trying to balance itself out. The elements in our lives lead us to sway, bringing heightened awareness as we try to regulate, access, and take the correct action.
The opposing forces at play in our lives are work time/personal time, reason/emotions, doing/resting, and so on. To move too far in one end may lead to overinvesting in one area and straining the other. Ideally, to strive to be balanced requires awareness, attention, and aim.
Awareness: We notice when we are feeling off, stressed, or fatigued—that signals the seesaw to tip.
Attention: Looking at our breath, mindset, and energy; observing what the body feels and what thoughts are present.
Aim: Clarifying our life values and intentions, using them as our inner pivot. Our mental care guides us as to how much weight we put on each side at different times.
At Clare Wellness Clinic, a common request is balance. I believe everything is interconnected, and the journey to attain balance is a process of aligning and nurturing all parts of self.
Mental and emotional wellness, clarity, and emotional intelligence play a significant role as we navigate life. Tools like mindfulness, gratitude, journalling, positive affirmations, and having a different perspective can all be used to guide us towards balance.
Stress reduction techniques like tapping, breathwork, EFT, acupressure, and kinesiology all help regulate our internal equilibrium and resilience.
Physical wellness: A healthy body is a solid foundation on the path to balance, including regular exercise, a balanced approach to nutrition, and sufficient sleep. Personally, my best setup for my day is a walk in nature—in the beauty and intelligence around us. In the swirl of a problem, the intelligence of nature may offer a solution if we are open to it.
Walking is about putting one foot in front of the other and always moving forward, even in the face of upheaval. There are many ways to incorporate movement—swimming, cycling, hiking, etc.
Spiritual: Having a sense of personal purpose and connection, whether through beliefs, religion, nature, inner reflection, or life values. A sense of something higher.
Social wellness: Having healthy relationships that have good boundaries, honest communication, and a sense of belonging.
Having a holistic balance at Clare Wellness Clinic is like a reshuffle. It is a recalibration of the mind to bring balance back into our lives. When we can look at an area of our lives with a new perspective, a massive shift can assimilate. We are always navigating to peace and balance.
Holistic balance means living in a way that nourishes your whole self—not just isolating parts.
“Balance is not something you find; it’s something you create.”
