TWO Clare men are part of the Limerick management aiming to steer the Treaty County to Tailteann Cup glory this weekend.

Winners of the 2025 Allianz National Football League Division 4, Limerick’s footballers will line out in Croke Park for the third time this year when they take on Kildare in the Tailteann Cup final on Sunday at 14:30.

Quilty native Evan Talty is skill acquisition coach with Limerick, it is the only role of its kind in the GAA at present. A nine-time Clare SFC winner with Kilmurry Ibrickane, Evan is in his first year involved with Limerick’s senior footballers.

He is also a selector with the side and previous roles include managing the Clare intermediate ladies footballers, coaching the Galway and Dublin senior ladies football sides.

Talty coached Roscommon’s U20s to win the Connacht title last year and has led UL to All-Ireland glory.

Also part of Jimmy Lee’s ticket is Labasheeda’s Dylan Kenny. The strength and conditioning coach had been an understudy to Rob Mulcahy with the Clare senior footballers and has completed a masters from Setanta College. He has been involved with St Joseph’s Miltown in recent seasons and had the side in flying form as they claimed the O’Gorman Cup for the second time in three years on Saturday with a comprehensive win over Wolfe Tones.

Kenny currently lines out with Shannon Gaels and was a leading player in their recent Division 4 league success and will be one of the key players for the Fergie O’Loughlin managed outfit in this year’s Clare IFC.

Former Clare S&C coach Micheál Cahill is Head Coach for Limerick. The Mungret man had been S&C coach for Clare’s senior footballers in 2012 and 2013 under Micheál McDermott and Mick O’Dwyer before returning for Colm Collins’ final season at the helm in 2023. At the time of Collins’ exit, senior players within the Clare squad had stressed the importance of keeping the former Limerick U21 footballer involved with the Banner county.
