TWO new All-Ireland champions from Clare were crowned in Croke Park on Sunday with the handball success of Leah Minogue and Seán Coughlan.
*Leah Minogue. Sean Coughlan and Leah Minogue are through to All-Ireland finals which take place today (Sunday) in Croke Park.
*Leah Minogue. CROKE PARK will host the semi-finals of all adult GAA Handball competitions this weekend with plenty of Clare interest.
Chloe Philpott from Kilkishen was crowned All-Ireland junior B ladies handball champion at the weekend. In the final she defeated Tyrone’s Clare Conway in straight sets, 21-7 and 21-9.
*Shane Walsh. Tuamgraney’s Shane Walsh was crowned Munster masters B handball champion last week when he defeated Roger Casey from Cork in the final.
*Leah Minoge and Amber Nolan. Favourites Diarmaid Nash and Colin Crehan were pipped in a tie breaker in the All-Ireland senior doubles handball final in Croke Park on Saturday evening.
CLARE HAD MIXED fortunes during the past week in adult handball.
*Sean Considine. CLOONEY/QUIN’S Sean Considine won a silver medal at the US National Championships in Minnesota.
