IMPROVED weather conditions of the past week led to good competition at East Clare.
Wet and windy conditions last weekend resulted in the cancellation of a number of competitions in golf clubs across the region.
The ladies golfer of the year award at Ennis has been won by Sinead Hegarty while Patricia O’Reilly has won the award for the most improved golfer and she is also the bronze medal winner.
The men’s Christmas hampers competition took place at Dromoland at the weekend when there was a big turnout and some excellent scoring.

The men’s competition at Dromoland at the weekend was for the Fred O’Flanagan memorial trophy.
MARY McNamara was victorious in the ladies masters held at Woodstock Golf Club.
Michelle Bennett’s lady captain’s prize at Dromoland was won by Mairead Twomey with 40 points.
*East Clare Golf Club’s Lady Captain, Rachel Whelan, presenting the Captain’s Prize to winner Ciara Minogue. Lady Captain Rachel Whelan’s prize was played for at East Clare last Sunday when Ciara Minogue (38) emerged as the winner with 38 points.
