*Photograph: John Mangan A 27 year old man told his mother, “I am going to kill Benson” before repeatedly stabbing the woman’s “beloved” ten year old Pug dog with a knife.
*A four year prison term was imposed on the attacker. A 75-year old farmer and retired school teacher has branded a man who subjected him to “a horrific assault” as “a coward, a bully and a disgrace to his family”.
*The late Hunter Molloy. The father of the late 18-month old baby boy, Hunter Molloy has been released from prison on compassionate grounds, a court heard.
*Jim Harmon. A JUDGE has jailed an 80-year old former Scout Leader to six years and eight months in prison for molesting five young boys, all scouts in the 1970s and early 1980s.

*The late Stephanie Fitzpatrick. A NORTH CLARE man admitted to ‘drinking all day’ at a Christening celebration before crashing his car into a tree that claimed the life of his girlfriend on the main road leading out of the seaside resort of Lahinch two years ago.
*Conor & Daniel O’Halloran. A TULLA medical professional who bit off the top part of his brother’s left ear in a farmyard row “around land, monies and a shed” has escaped jail for the offence.
*The initial incident occurred on Abbey St in Ennis. A JUDGE has told the State that “it is last chance saloon” in its prosecution of a serving Garda who is charged with drink driving and careless driving.
