Over 170,000 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered this week while a further 429 cases have been confirmed across the country.

NPHET reported on Sunday that 429 more persons have tested positive for the virus across the country. County cases have not been provided as of yet with latest figures for Co Clare from Thursday showing six new cases.

One additional death linked to COVID-19 has been recorded. There has been a total of 4,873 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.

Latest hospital data from 8am on Sunday details that 45 persons remain in critical care because of COVID-19. They are included in the figure of 174 hospitalised, of which 13 were admitted in the past 24 hours.

CEO of the HSE, Paul Reid outlined that it has been a “strong week for the vaccination programme” with over 170,000 vaccines administered. He said that on two days this week, “well over” 40,000 doses were received by the public. “More supplies” are helping the progress, he stated.

As of Friday, 1,359,921 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland with 393,310 people receiving both doses.
