Could Taylor Swift get married in Dromoland Castle? According to new research, it’s more possible than Swifties think!

The 14-time Grammy winner recently announced her engagement to NFL star Travis Kelce with an Instagram post, and since then, speculation has been raging online as to when and where the couple will tie the knot. However, according to the Taylor Suitability Score (TSS), developed by researchers at Casino.org, Taylor is most suited to six Irish venues out of the world’s top 10 Taylor-perfect locations, even featuring Clare’s Dromoland Castle with a score of 83/100.

The Clare Echo spoke to a Newmarket-on-Fergus resident who commented, “She’d be more than welcome!!!”

The five other top Irish venues we can expect the Travis-Kelce wedding to be at are Adare Manor in Limerick (87/100), Luttrellstown Castle in Dublin (82/100), Powerscourt Hotel in Wicklow (80/100), The K Club in Kildare (76/100), and Ashford Castle in Mayo (74/100).

Previous celebrities to have visited Dromoland Castle include John Lennon, George Harrison, Bono, John Travolta, Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, Muhammad Ali, Nelson Mandela, Everett Weston, Juan Carlos I of Spain, and George Bush.

Researchers examined Taylor’s ancestry, lyrics referencing the regions, and fan theories about past trips, of which there are two possible trips to Dromoland. Swifties will know that Ireland remains the love of her life (after Travis, of course), where she feels creatively at home. Especially prevalent in her 2020 ‘Folklore’ era, Taylor told the crowd at her 2024 Dublin concert that Ireland was where she imagined the album’s world to take place. Being inspired by the scenery and culture of “storytelling”, she told fans, “Folklore in general, it just belongs in Ireland.” She even famously refers to Wicklow, which appears six times in the research results, in her song ‘Sweet Nothings’: “Does it ever miss Wicklow sometimes?”

Whether she misses Ireland enough to turn her fantastical Folklore world into an Irish wedding perfect for Spotify’s 2023 most-streamed artist, I guess we’ll have to see, but the research speaks for itself.
