A SHANNON businessman has been shortlisted in Forbes’ 30 under 30 list.

Founder and CEO of Failte Solar, Abhilash Borana has been named in the top thirty entrepreneurs in the Forbes List for business personnel in manufacturing and industry under the age of thirty.

While completing his studies for a Masters in Business Law in UL, Abhilash founded the Shannon based distribution company. Failte Solar has gone from success to success and is now a leader in the solar energy business in Ireland. In 2020, the company had a turnover of €2m, in 2021 it was just shy of €6m and the forecast for 2022 is to €15 to €20m.

Abhilash is just one of three other recipients chosen in Ireland and joins 27 others from throughout Europe. This recognition places Abhilash in the world’s most impactful community of young entrepreneurs and game-changers and places Ireland in a unique position as a world leader in the business and commercial arena.

With a showroom, offices and a warehouse in Shannon, Failte Solar through Abhilash has introduced over 40 of the leading manufacturers of solar products to Ireland.

In an interview with The Clare Echo in May of last year, Abhilash expressed his hope of becoming a millionaire before turning thirty. “My target is to become a millionaire before I turn 30. We have achieved a €2m turnover already, this year, the second year target is around €3-€4m and we will meet it. I booked the stock for December, our whole stock is booked already and I don’t need to worry about this part, the stock we’re taking this year is close to 2.5 to 3 million so we need to sell it all”.
