*An incident room has been set up at Ennis Garda Station. 

A SENIOR investigating officer has been appointed by An Garda Síochána into the discovery of two bodies in Kilnaboy on Thursday afternoon.

Gardaí were called to a domestic residence in Kilnaboy at approximately 2:30pm on Thursday afternoon where a man and women both aged in their fifties were found deceased.

Both individuals were understood to be husband and wife. They have two adult children, neither of whom were in the property on Thursday afternoon. A Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to the family of the deceased.

The scene is currently preserved for an examination by the Garda National Technical Bureau. The county coroner has been notified and the services of the Office of the State Pathologist have been requested, a post mortem will be carried out in due course.

According to a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána, they are investigating “all the circumstances” surrounding the deaths. A Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed and an Incident Room has been established at Ennis Garda Station. Gardaí in Co. Clare are appealing to anyone who may have information to contact them.
