A SECOND full day of searching for missing Jack Boddy will resume in Lahinch on Tuesday morning.

An Garda Síochána have issued an official missing person appeal for twenty year old Jack who was last seen in Lahinch in the early hours of Sunday morning at approximately 00:45.

Jack is described as being approximately 5 foot 10 inches in height, with brown hair and blue/green eyes. He was last seen wearing a navy polo t-shirt and grey combat style pants.

Units of the Irish Coast Guard from Doolin and Killaloe, Clare Civil Defence and the Shannon based Irish Coast Guard led the search for Jack on Monday.

Cregg, Callura and Carhugar in Lahinch were the areas on land searched across Monday with Rescue 115 sweeping the coastline and inland areas. A drone team, land search team and an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) have been utilised and will continue to be used during the search.

Limerick native Jack has been involved with Clare football teams as a strength and conditioning coach for the past two years. He is currently involved with the county U20 side with many members of the panel joining a wide team of volunteers walking local roads and fields as part of the search. Clare senior football manager, Paul Madden was among those to assist during the search on Monday.

For the second full day of the search, Castledarcy Campground is the meeting point at 9am on Tuesday morning when Gardaí and the Coast Guard will resume the search for Jack. They have appealed to those assisting to wear proper clothing, footwear and to stay in groups of two. Areas to search will be designated at the meeting point. The shoreline, Lahinch and its surrounds are expected to be the focus of the search on St Patrick’s Day.
