An estimated 13 jobs are to derive from Screwfix’s expansion into Co Clare which will see the opening of an Ennis store in early 2020.

Over the coming years, the UK hardware chain plans to open forty new outlets in Ireland with up to 400 jobs being created. The upcoming vacancies will be in roles such as supervisors, retail management and service assistants.

Early 2020 has been announced as the opening for the Ennis store which will follow such occurrences at Waterford, Swords and Sandyford. The Clare outlet will be based in the Clonroadmore Industrial Estate on the Quin Rd where 10,000 products will be stocked with delivery and collection services from online purchases.

John Mewett, CEO of Screwfix Ireland highlighted the value of stores to local towns such as Ennis. “We’re extremely excited to be launching Screwfix stores in Ireland to help tradespeople get their jobs done quickly, affordably and on time. The creation of bricks and mortar stores in Ireland is a major milestone for us and a direct result of the increasing demand from Irish tradespeople for our fantastic range of products.

“Our Irish customers are already committed to our Screwfix.ie website, but we know the convenience a Screwfix store provides their local town. Screwfix offers fast, high quality customer service and a large product range that allows tradespeople to get what they want, when they need it. We’re excited about the times ahead and look forward to welcoming customers to our new stores.”
