MEETINGS ARE TO take place between local authority staff and management of Tubber National School over traffic management issues.

Traffic calming measures in recent months were installed opposite Boston National School. An examination of the “safety situation” at its Tubber counterpart was requested by Cllr Joe Killeen (FF) who felt existing measures could be supplemented.

Arrangements to hold a meeting between the West Clare Municipal District office and management of Tubber National School management will be made, senior executive engineer, Enda MacNamara stated in response.

With the school located “between two busy roads” and the Crusheen motorway exit “has caused traffic to leave and head for Tubber”, the quantity of traffic on the road has increased, Cllr Killeen flagged.

He continued, “The school is very close to the main road, it has no set down area, the situation needs to be examined”. The former primary school principal noted that both teachers and parents were “concerned due to the level of traffic and speed”. The proposal was seconded by Cllr Joe Garrihy (FG).
